The Peking University First Hospital Daxing Campus, located in Daxing New Town, Beijing, adjacent to the South Fifth Ring Road, is a top-tier Grade A comprehensive hospital in China. With a construction area of 216,100 square meters and 1,200 beds, the hospital comprises a medical complex, an academic and administrative building, and auxiliary facilities.

Guided by the principles of "energy efficiency, material conservation, and land optimization," the architects have masterfully integrated various functional buildings into a compact layout. By positioning structures along the perimeter, the design maximizes the central green space, creating a serene and restorative environment for patients and staff alike.

Facade of the Children's Medical Center.jpg In shaping the building's form and facade, the architects employed a "Matrix Evolution" design concept and a "Heritage + Innovation" architectural approach. This philosophy blends traditional elements with bold color choices to reflect the modern era's spirit. The exterior facade is characterized by a harmonious and minimalist aesthetic, featuring gray stone and terracotta panels as the primary tones. Inside, warm-toned terracotta and dynamic, staggered forms embody the vibrant and innovative academic spirit of Peking University, while paying homage to the iconic red-brick architecture of the historic PKU campus.

The pediatric building's facade stands out with its lively glass fins in red, orange, yellow, and green, injecting a playful and cheerful element into the complex.

The western facade is divided by a river, with a high-rise structure to the north and a five-story office building to the south, forming a cohesive urban interface that extends both vertically and horizontally. Openings in the facade direct views toward the central landscaped area, where elegant leisure spaces and warm-toned, staggered volumes enrich the urban landscape of Daxing New Town with diverse and dynamic elements.
