As the third-generation library in Nanjing Forestry University, this newly built library is an information sharing space that integrates books collection, reading, academic exchanges, and administration offices. The overall floorage is about 46,600 square meters, comprised of a basement (6,600 square meters); and the above-ground building (40,000 square meters). The main building (Building A) has 7 floors, and it’s mainly used as reading space; the annex building (Building B) has 5 floors, which is used as auxiliary space for business offices, stack room, administration office, academic conference center and self-study classroom.
The project follows the design and management philosophy of “people-oriented, eco-friendly and space-sharing” in architectural design and interior decoration, and strives to create a comfortable and cozy learning, teaching and research environment for students. In terms of interior design, the designers adopt white, griege and brown as the main color. When you walk into the library, you can see a large area of white walls, griege floor, brown wood grain walls, bookshelves and ceilings, delivering a fresh and simple overall style.
LOPO’s brown woodgrain digital inkjet terracotta panels are used on the walls of every space in the library as a major wall decoration element.
